Donkey's Ear

Donkey's Ear

Apparently, I picked up the knottiest, twistedest, unevenest piece of white oak you can find and tried to plane it down with no real goal in mind. After getting it mostly flat and settled, I decided to make it into a donkey's ear so that I could make small miter boxes. I followed the same style as Jay Bates and used my $5 plastic miter box from Lowe's to cut the 45° angles.

The main body is white oak, and the fence is ebonized cherry sapwood. All held together by glue and screws. It's not perfect, but it's close. I'm sure this won't be the last donkey's ear I make!
